FedStar’s Overdraft Protection Program is designed with your protection and convenience in mind. Though most members never plan on overdrawing their account, life doesn’t always go according to plan, and overdrafts do occur. Our Overdraft Protection Program is a voluntary program available to members who hold a FedStar Checking Account, and must be opted into.* In the event that an item is presented to your account that is more than the balance of your account, we may pay the item for you, rather than returning it to the merchant.
Participation in the program is sure to give you peace of mind. It’s free – there are no initial or monthly fees – and you may opt-out at any time. However, for every overdraft transaction, an overdraft fee will be assessed. Please consult our Rate and Fee Disclosure for the current fee amount. Effective July 1, 2010 all share draft checking account holders should OPT-IN to the Standard Overdraft Protection Plan for ATM and everyday transactions.
