Membership & Benefits
We offer all the products and services that you need to fit your busy lifestyle. We have FREE Notary Service for members only. When you bank with Commonroots Federal Credit Union, you are helping to support United Methodist ministry in Western Pennsylvania and beyond.
Membership in Commonroots FCU is open to all United Methodists in the Western PA Conference and their family members. This includes clergy, church members, and relatives of church members, church staff and employees of UM organizations, and the churches themselves.
How To Become A Member?
Just complete a membership application and open a Commonroots Savings Account with an initial required deposit of only $25. Once you join CRFCU your membership lasts a lifetime. Even if you change jobs, relocate, or retire, your membership is still good at the Credit Union.
Commonroots members can take advantage of many products and services ranging from checking accounts, surcharge-free ATMs, mortgage and vehicle loans, Visa® credit cards, Online & Mobile Banking, Church Loans and much more.
Commonroots members also have a vote in the election of their volunteer Board of Directors. Since there are no stockholders, the members who save and borrow money at CRFCU are the actual owners of the Credit Union. As a not-for-profit financial institution, money that is available after paying expenses and setting aside for reserves is returned to CRFCU members in the form of higher savings rates, lower loan rates, and low or no fees on services.
