Checking Accounts

A share draft checking account at Energy Plus Credit Union offers you all of the convenience and functionality you need to manage your money. We offer two options that both come with exceptional service and require no minimum balance.

Rewards Checking

Open a hassle-free checking account and earn cash back on balances up to $5,000. There are no minimum balance requirements, monthly service charges, or per-check charges. If the account is overdrawn, we offer: overdraft courtesy pay*, overdraft protection loans, and automatic transfers from share accounts. To earn reward in a given cycle:

  1. Maintain E-statements
  2. Receive Direct Deposit of at least $500
  3. Complete 2 EPCU Bill Pay Transactions
  4. Complete 12 Point of Sale Debit Card Transactions

Teen Checking

It's never too early to start learning how to use a checking account. EPCU members 15 or older can open a checking account with a parent or guardian and receive a MasterCard debit card for easy access to their cash! Teen members are eligible to earn current Rewards Checking Rate by completing the listed requirements in a given cycle.

There is no overdraft protection on this account.

All accounts have no regular monthly fee. Dividend rates are determined by the Board of Directors, and are subject to change at any time.

Deposit accounts at EPCU are federally insured by the NCUA up to $250,000 per account.

*Overdraft courtesy pay is offered to members with direct deposit 90 days after the account is opened. Fees may apply and items may be returned under certain circumstances. Please see your account agreement for more information.
