What's New?

IMPORTANT Information Regarding Overdraft Coverage

We want to inform you of a NEW Service available July 1, 2010. Employees Federal Credit Union will begin to offer overdraft services to cover ATM and one-time debit card transactions - saving embarrassment and the extra hassles in your already busy day. However, we cannot provide you this service unless you enroll using the Opt-In Form below.

Beginning August 15, 2010, we will not pay overdrafts on your everyday debit card transactions unless you ask us, in writing. If you "OPT-IN", the transaction will be paid.

Please read the following information and complete the Opt-In Form below to enroll in our Overdraft Privilege Program.

What You Need to Know about Overdrafts & Overdraft Fees:

An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, but we pay it anyway. We can cover your overdrafts in two different ways:

  1. We have Standard Overdraft Privilege Service available for your account.
  2. We also offer Overdraft Protection Plans, such as a link to a savings account or line of credit, which may be less expensive than our Standard Overdraft Privilege Service.

This notice explains our Standard Overdraft Privilege Service.
What is the Standard Overdraft Privilege Service that is available with my account?

We do authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:

  • Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number
  • Automatic withdrawals you have initiated

We do not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions unless you ask us to (see below):

  • ATM transactions
  • Everyday debit card transactions

We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction.

If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined.

What fees will I be charged if Employees Federal Credit Union pays my overdraft?

Under our Standard Overdraft Privilege Service:

  • We will charge you a fee of $25 each time we pay an overdraft.
  • There is no limit on the total fees we can charge you for overdrawing your account.
